Gustave Caillebotte (1848-1894), companion-in-arms of impressionist painters, has left us a rich, forceful and independant-minded body of work which has yet to be fully evaluated. In actual fact, most of his masterpieces remain in private collections. Alain Jaubert ("Palettes") will reveal a spellbinding visionnary of modernity, in his play of pre-cinematic photographic effects and the most parisien of Impressionists.
