Gustave Caillebotte (1848-1894), spent most of his summers, until the age of 30, on his family's estate in Yerres, near Paris. It was there that he fell in love with painting. He painted what are now considered among the best works of his short carreer. Fishermen, bathers, rowers, strollers of Yerres' riverbanks recount his story of leasurly summers past.
