Emmanuel Laurent is the director and founding partner of the Paris based Films à Trois, specializing in international coproductions. His recent co-productions include The Killer Cure, a one-hour documentary in partnership with White Pine Pictures for France 2, CBC, SBS, Hitler's Museum, a 2-hour HD miniseries, in partnership with Ottonia Media for Arte, Avro, History Canada, SBS, TSR, Planète and, due for 2007, Four Wings and a Prayer, a feature-length HD documentary to be released in theaters worldwide by Celluloïd Dreams, produced in partnership with Primitive Entertainment for France 2, Planète, The Documentary Channel and NHK. He is currently developing The Magic of the Unicorn written by Wolter Bramhorst and produced in partnership with Dash Films for AVRO and Vision TV and Rose's Journey written with Clay Bryce, produced in partnership with Artemis International-Brian Beaton (TV partners to be determined).

Laurent’s former productions include the celebrated 2-hour miniseries Death by Design and The Life and Times of Life and Times for ARTE and BBC, that were shown in 43 countries and garnered over 10 international awards, as well as The Phantom Virus (Prix Leonardo), Caillebotte and The Adventures of the Gaze for ARTE.. His former works as a director include documentaries such as The Micro Zoo; The Brenne Country;  Under a Paris Roof; Buffon: The Science of Life; The Evolution of Ernst Mayr; By Accident?; Leonardo da Vinci; The Wheel; Poppies; Portrait of Gustave Caillebotte in the Country and a feature musical drama The Belly's Opera (France 3, Fuji 8 in Japan). Laurent’s first book, part historical non-fiction and novella, Mademoiselle V. Diary of a Heedless Girl, was published in 2003 (Editions de la Différence, Paris, France).
